We have done quite a bit of work on this house since we last posted, new windows, drywall and plumbing to name a few. If any of you have ever lived (and worked) on an old house, you understand that no matter how good you think the condition of the house is going to be, there will be surprises. A fire and no salvageable flooring were a couple of the hiccups we have encountered. Despite all of that, we are making great progress and though it doesn't look like much now, it already looks better than it did just a few short weeks ago.
The main level got a bit of a floor plan update, moving the location of the kitchen and opening up the walls that once divided the dining and living spaces. All new wood flooring goes in next week, and we can't wait to see what that does for the space. Once that is done, we will start to see tile, cabinets, lights and fixtures, all the things that are going to start making this feel like a house again.
This is definitely going to be my favorite room in the house, the master suite on the third floor. A long and narrow long space with windows flanking both sides, a large bathroom and walk in closet, I think I could see anyone making themselves right at home here.
